Horses are very much like humans in that they are social animals. They have defined roles in their herd and would rather be with their peers. Like humans, they have distinct personalities, attitudes and moods. An approach that works with one may not work with the other. They love to play, have fun and are curious by nature. Due to their highly evolved survival senses, they have read and mirror human body language and emotions. By accomplishing a task involving the horse and overcoming the fear, confidence is created which can carry over into other challenges in life.
What is Equine Therapy?
We use horses as an aid to improve various conditions in a fun and relaxed environment. It is not about riding a horse but rather doing various activities on horseback to improve sensory integration.
